Where Does It Come From?

Anxiety is much like the fight, freeze and flight response that is an internal survival response allowing people to spot oncoming danger and protect themselves. The problem occurs when someone repeatedly and for unnecessary reason experiences extremely high peaks of fear and worry. Their body stays in this fight, flight and/or freezer response constantly.

Determinants for anxiety stem form biology and the environment. They are conditioned into us at a young age. The natural state of a person is not anxiety. We learn to become scared of irrational thoughts and ideas that others tell us. We believe them as our “truths”. If you grew up in a very hostile and stressful home, you are predisposed to anxiety. It was a normal state of being and responding to as a child.
