We are Labels and Nothing More?

We are Labels and Nothing More?

Labels create who we think we truly are. How could we be anything but a label. Even our very own birth name was not of our choosing. We identify with everything on the outside of us. We say we are right, good, bad, loving, angry, a good friend, hard worker and so on. What does that even mean? Honestly can someone tell me what any of those labels mean really?

Let’s take the label “hard worker” – What does that mean? Well first do we all have the same definition for what is a hard worker? No we do not. If their are 8 billion people on this world then there must be 8 billion interpretations of what a hard worker is. Do you identify yourself as a hard worker based on income, productivity, what your parents told you the definition is, what society says it is? Do you even know?

How about we look at another label- “I am a good person”. What does that even mean? Who says your a good person? Because you do your job, come home and do not steal from your neighbor or beat your children. Is that the standard? Who knows? Do you know?

"I am a bad person” – This is a great label people tend to want to say about themselves. It really allows the victim mentality to shine. Who says your bad? Your partner, parents, yourself? What is the working definition of a bad person verses a good person?

We are Labels

We are Brainwashed

If you can’t give a definition to these labels you may want to ask yourself if you have been brainwashed or not. You are made up of other peoples opinions, ideas and beliefs. So basically your a puppet on a string. Admit it. You don’t know the first thing about yourself and what makes up your spirit or soul. You feel that actions in the world define who you are. If you do nice things then your a nice person. If you pay your taxes and hold the door open for others than your a moral and kind person. No your not. Your just a robot that does not think for yourself. If you truly knew who you were than maybe you would see that there is no way any of these definitions can be true. This is called the brainwashing of society. Ideas and beliefs made up by society and others who hypnotized you just like they were hypnotized by others.

We are labels

without a Moral Compass and Awareness

Now with these labels you believe so strongly in, you walk around thinking that your better than others or less than others. You judge others who do not meet your standards or criteria but yet you have no idea what your own criteria is. That’s because your bits and pieces of others ideas and criteria. I have and idea that just may work. Why don’t we all stay out of each others business and do the business of getting to know who you are. Not in the context of anything other than you and yourself.

The one label that we may agree on is that we come into this world as human being. Even that some may disagree. But if that is the common denominator then maybe it’s time for some self awareness and understanding of who you are. You have no idea who that person is and are afraid to get to know that person. Why are we so afraid to look in the mirror and ask the real question. Who am I?

We are labels

–break down each and every last one to Know Self

Maybe the bigger question to ask is: Who am I not? Let’s start there. You were not even allowed to pick your own birth name. So throw that label out. Instead of seeking therapy and help to understand why you don’t feel listened to by others and always find yourself in a state of fear, frustration, anxiety, anger and self pity you should try to seek to understand who that person is that is believing these labels. Counseling allows you to peel back the conditioned layers and labels to take a look at the real authentic you. The part that never has had nor will have any label.
