The Essence of True Friendships

The Essence of True Friendships

The Essence of True Friendships

The Essence of true friendships. There is nothing quite like a real friend. Throughout the stage of our development from Birth to death wouldn’t it be wonderful to say that we truly knew what a true friendship was. What a connection with another feels like.

The type of friendship I mentioned here goes beyond intimacy, race, and gender. More than seeing someone for who they are. Don’t get me wrong this is a necessary component for friendship. But the type of friendship I am talking about is the type that requires absolutely no need to be met from the other person, the ability to be present and still. To hold the space for that person, allowing them to be exactly where they are, who they are, and is safe to let all the mask come down and be exactly where you are.

What Do True Friendships even look like?

The truest form a friendship is that which we call unconditional love. I love how our society throws this term unconditional love around as if they have experienced truly what it is. What it is cannot be defined because the vibration and the feeling is so overwhelming and so large and so great that to put it into a definition would diminish its meaning and dumb it down.

The closest I can come would be to list the following words.

Truth, essence, vibration, allowance, abundance, understanding, awareness, consciousness, radiance, growth, laughter, pain, stretching, compromise, heat, ego, forgiveness, growth, light, dark, the beginning, no end, the point at which all things meet. All time stops. Present moment exist.

You understand that as you look at this person you are seeing a reflection of yourself looking back. And when you have a connection with another who gets this, it is like the sound of an orchestra playing the most beautiful song because you get to experience it with another. I have spent 39 years on this planet of which 30 were spent diving headfirst into the deep waters drowning slowly in the poison and conditioning what others want me to be, feel, think, say, do and become.

True friendship does not care if you’re mad at them, does not stop from showing you your blind spots. A true friend is quick to check your ego so so you can wiggle back into love. Unconditional love is okay with that person not being okay with you at that moment because they know that to not show you the dark areas and hold you accountable it would be doing you an disservice to the calling of your greater good.

Forging Forward to Real Friendships

My prayer and hope for all is that you find this friend. Maybe you will be among the few to even acquire a few. Don’t settle for platitudes and niceties. Don’t be so full of pride and ego that you can’t be shown the areas of yourself that are often times acting out. Coming from a place of fear and showing up as boastfulness, a sense of being better than others. It’s lonely wearing all of those mask. Do the work to take them off one at a time. This lifetime may you find that friend in yourself and with another.
