I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor here in Florida. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of Central Florida and graduated from Troy University with a Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Psychology.
My philosophy focuses on the mind and body connection and understanding how it is a key factor in maintaining happiness, alignment and well-being. Humans are powerful beings and we manifest our reality. Understanding how our thoughts are tied directly to our emotions is key to understanding yourself and what motivates us to act in certain ways.
I specialize in working with grief, depression, and anxiety in the context of individuals, families and couples. I understand loss and how to overcome it. At the age of 14 I lost a parent to suicide. This taught me the importance and the value of establishing good mental health practices for oneself. I have made it my goal to help others find a sense of peace and clarity in their lives.
I enjoy connecting with people of all ages and those from various multicultural backgrounds. I understand that everyone has their own “truths” and perceptions of how they see the world. Increasing awareness and consciousness is vital in truly understanding the self.
I am also passionate when it comes to assisting children with behavioral disorders including those on the autism spectrum. I aim to utilize role playing and social skills building activities to help children interact and bond with others. I believe that parent training and participation is key to helping to improve a child’s social skills. Together we will create an individualized plan of care that is unique to your child and family as a whole.
Another area of focus I am passionate about is the ability to assist clients in obtaining Emotional Support Animals letters. This is for those seeking to gain the benefit of animals in therapeutic treatment. I am excited that the mental health field has started recognizing the many therapeutic benefits that a support animal can provide an individual in times of depression, anxiety and stress.
In 2007 I discovered I had an autoimmune disorder. This resulted from an infection and has influenced the way I eat and live. Over the past 13 years I have dedicated time to research and understand how food impacts people differently and ways to make eating enjoyable for those with difficult disorders and allergies. Whether you are struggling to eat right for your body type or because you have dietary restrictions that make it seem impossible to live a normal life, I get it and don’t want you to give up. My approach is individualized for each client because I know first hand, what works for one person will not work for everyone. Through education, awareness and starting to make small but effective changes, you will see your life change and improve for the better.
I feel truly honored to assist you in gaining the clarity and awareness you strive for in all areas (mind, body and spirit). Please feel free to contact me for more information. Let’s talk and see if we are a good fit for eachother.
